Criminal Justice
Young Adults and Criminal Justice Grassroots
We want to fund grassroots groups working with disadvantaged young people (16-25) who are at risk of or involved in criminal activity.
We want to support groups that take a long term view about working with disadvantaged young people, recognising that change may take time and that improving life chances can take many forms. We expect that young people will play an active role in projects we fund.
Your project might address one or more of these but we are willing to consider other ideas that will reduce the risk of disadvantaged young people being involved in criminal activity.
- supporting young people in preparing to access formal education or employment;
- supporting young people through peer mentoring or access to positive role models;
- working with young people to change their perspectives and behaviours;
- projects that use conflict resolution models;
- projects that use restorative justice models;
- we will consider funding diversionary activities, but only as part of a wider project that leads to attitudinal or behavioural change.
You can only apply for this programme if your project is based in Birmingham or the Black Country (Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Bromwich, Smethwick, Sandwell)
