This programme is underpinned by the findings of the Global Exchange Forums. These are annual events which bring together practitioners from the UK and abroad and aim to promote the transfer of policy and practice from around the world, supporting the Barrow Cadbury Trust’s priorities in the UK. The aim of our Global Exchange Forums is to engage leading thinkers with campaigners from around the world. The Forums expose people with decision-making power to the campaigning energy that exists in even the most marginalised communities.
Our aim is to move beyond these one-off interactions, by facilitating long-term engagement between groups working in different contexts. We have facilitated a partnership between a women’s group we support in the West Midlands, Women Acting in Today’s Society, and the Campaign for Female Education, a leading African organisation which has worked effectively to put issues regarding girls in school at the top of the agenda of key international bodies.
