Poverty & Inclusion – Policy and Research
Through this programme we will fund research or policy development work in two main areas:
- New ideas in economics. After the experience of the banking crisis and a world-wide recession, we are interested in the development of new economic policies for the UK that would social injustice and economic inequalities.
- Community resilience: Reductions in public spending and an emphasis on pushing power and responsibility for services down to the local level represents a major shift in the relationship between the individual and the state. We are interested in research and policy work that looks at how, in this context, communities can be strengthened and enabled to take part in and benefit from the policy changes.
- We expect that, where possible, research projects will be based in or include a Birmingham or Black Country element.
Our budget is limited and we have commissioned a number of studies that are under way, so we are unlikely to fund many more research studies for the remainder of 2011-12. However, to give an idea of the type of work in which we are interested, click the red “Research and Policy case studies” button below. If you have an idea for a project you would like us to consider funding, please complete our enquiry form here or phone 020 7632 9068.
If you have already submitted an enquiry form or discussed your project with us and we have invited you to submit a full application, complete ourpolicy and research projects application form here. We strongly suggest you submit an enquiry form or discuss your project with us before spending time on a full application.
