Grassroots funding

We want to fund grassroots groups working with refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented migrants and other marginalised migrants. We seek to enable grassroots groups to support the most vulnerable migrants. We also seek to ensure that migrants are not excluded from the public debate on migration.
The types of projects and/or organisations we are likely to support include:

  • those which help ensure that migrant, refugee and asylum seeker voices contribute to the public debate on migration;
  • those which seek to improve the lives of undocumented migrants or other groups facing extreme hardship;
  • those which promote a more balanced public debate on migration and asylum;
  • those which focus on addressing injustice or unequal treatment faced by some migrants;
  • those which address specific issues experienced by undocumented migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, such as the restriction of access to health care and education.

Grassroots funding for small organisations will focus on Birmingham and the Black Country (Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Bromwich, Walsall, Smethwick, Sandwell).

Please note that we also support campaigning organisations and grassroots groups seeking to influence the public and policy debate on migration.
